"Fans love this shop for the unique variety of flavors, including chai, ube taro coconut (which member Sarah Ordene proclaimed “are the stuff dreams are made of”) and the top-notch vegan options. In response to Henderson’s vote for Mary’s Maple Bacon Bar, fellow member Kari Helstern stated, “Find out when Nomad does their honey sesame ginger kimchi candied bacon donut!!!. I’d give BOTH kidneys for that one."
"Satisfy your sweet tooth at North Park’s Nomad Donuts, which landed a spot in City Beat’s “Best Donuts in San Diego” roundup. Although not exclusively vegan, they do offer a number of non-dairy options, including ube taro, blueberry lavender, and Thai tea flavors. The venue itself is also delightful: a cherry-red, vintage double-decker bus set within a peaceful courtyard."
"A photo posted by Nomad Donuts (@nomaddonuts) on Jan 7, 2017 at 11:26am PST. Nomad Donuts boasts “gourmet donuts inspired by the world yet created with local ingredients.” They even offer vegan donuts. Of course they have the classics like chocolate and maple but they also provide donuts for the more sophisticated pallet."
"Lofty Coffee is a community hub for coffee in San Diego, which got its start as a small shop in 2011 on HWY 101 in Encinitas. Now they’ve expanded to four locations and a production facility where beans are roasted and pastries are homemade from scratch. Each location is massively important to its neighborhood, serving up sunny patios for conversation, healthy breakfast dishes, the delicious coffee they're known for and homemade pastries baked fresh daily."
"A photo posted by Lofty Coffee Co (@loftycoffeeco) on Nov 22, 2016 at 9:13am PST. Lofty Coffee Co. in North County has two Encinitas locations and one Solana Beach location in the Cedros Design District and according to the company website, they are opening a Little Italy Cafe complete with scratch-baking kitchen sometime in late 2016 or early 2017."
"Not that the classic thin brownie and vanilla ice cream sandwich isn’t great, but sometimes you just need to mix it up. Check out The Baked Bear, an ice cream sandwich shop where you can customize your base (cookies, brownies or donuts), your ice cream flavor and your toppings."
"If you’ve got a sweet tooth and like to Instagram your desserts, try Baked Bear!. They have the best ice cream sandwiches in town. These freshly baked cookies topped with delicious craft ice cream will leave you and your followers drooling."
"La Clochette Du Coin rests in the heart of Pacific Beach and serves up some classic Parisian treats. Weekends have little gustatory surprises like inventive breads. In the mood for a hearty meal?"
"This European-inspired cafe’s in-house bakery produces fresh-baked pastries and artisan breads that provide the foundation for an expanded menu that includes tartines, omelettes, salads and more"
"Situated in an unassuming strip mall in Sabre Springs (west of Poway), Nutmeg has racked up its healthy share of local fans. Serving Caffe Calabria coffee, seasonal foods (breakfast, brunch, and lunch), gluten-free and vegan menu items, and sweet delights from its vast pastry case, Nutmeg makes culinary and coffee magic happen in an industrial-like, open space with bar seating, booth areas, and tables situated next to outlets. If you’re looking for an office away from home, Nutmeg is it."
"Jenny Wenny Cakes is full of tempting treats decorated to perfection. Order-up little goodies and cakes like coffee and walnut cakelets for $4, or regular-sized cupcakes ($20 for 6) in vanilla, chocolate and hazelnut flavors. Or go big and order a Treat Box for $20 with 15 items including cookies, bars and cake."

"Although there are quite a few bakeries, donut shops, and ice cream parlors in San Diego that offer vegan options, Starry Lane Bakery is the only place I’ve found that offers 100% vegan desserts. And, might I add, really good vegan desserts. The great thing about this bakery is that it’s good for anyone who is sensitive to food allergens, since they make all of their desserts without the top 10 most common allergens."
"Born from the minds of two sisters – one with life-threatening food allergies – all of the bakery’s products are Top 10 allergen-free. Starry Lane values the health and safety of their customers, and they achieve that through transparency and delicious food."
"This decadent, artisanal homemade ice cream shop was founded by a mother-daughter duo and a visit here is a doubly sweet treat because your ice cream is served with a chocolate chip cookie!. All of JoJo's Creamery ice creams, cookies, waffle cones and sauces are made from scratch. Ice cream flavors include elevated versions of classics and interesting, flavorful delights such as Cayenne Sea Salt Caramel."
"Ice cream and cookies are the specialties at this mother-daughter owned Encinitas spot. Made from organic dairy from Straus Family Creamery, JoJo’s creates out-of-this-world flavors such as bananas foster, cayenne sea salt, and peanut butter honeycomb. For those with allergies, JoJo’s offers several dairy-free flavors and gluten-free cookies and waffle cones."

"El Cajon’s Burning Beard Brewing is open for dine-in and take out of crowlers, new growlers, and bottles. Call ahead or stop by for pick-up."
"It’s true that Stone Brewing has a new home in Escondido, which is slightly outside of San Diego itself, but the company has another location in Liberty Station within the city. It’s been a destination for beer lovers everywhere after the release of its famous Arrogant Bastard Ale and Imperial Russian Stout. In the past, it has been rated Best California Brewery and Best Place to Grab a Beer by RateBeer, plus it has an impressive restaurant and beautiful gardens attached to its brewery."
"This outpost location of Escondido’s Stone Brewing Company is one of the best breweries in Downtown San Diego, and it has many of the same signature brews, special releases, and small-batch beers on its lineup of 16 taps as its parent brewery. There are also farm-fresh snacks in the bistro, and if you fall in love with a specific brew, bottles are available for takeaway. (Tip: There’s another downtown location in Little Italy on Kettner Blvd.)"
