"With just shy of 100 seats, the New Village Arts Theater is one of Carlsbad’s most intimate musical and theatrical live performance venues. Located on State Street in the downtown area, it is staffed by local actors, stagehands, and musicians, who produce some annual performances that tend to get rave reviews. In addition to performances, the theater’s staff offer several community outreach programs and activities to foster creativity and expression in local children."
"Many people forgot about Quint One, as it shut its doors for four years. However, the former Quint Gallery recently returned under the name Quint One. Located in La Jolla, this is an appointment-only gallery."

From creative classes to climbable sculptures, contemporary art for kids, in a bright, modern space.
"The New Children's Museum re-opened in 2008 with a motto of think, play and create, which is exactly what kids do here. What is different about The New Children's Museum is that they specifically commission works of art with tactile features that appeal to kids rather than re-create existing art to suit a younger generation. There's hands-on art and exhibits to hold the attention of toddlers up through teen years."
"Not huge but one of the most interactive places for younger generation, the New Children’s Museum is worth a visit if you are in San Diego with kids and family. The museum was originally built in 1983. After that, it had time and again got renovated with the mission of restoring and vitalizing creativity, imagination, and critical thinking through contemporary Art in kids and older generation."
"This interactive children’s museum offers interactive art meant for kids. Installations are designed by artists, so tykes can learn principles of movement and physics while simultaneously being exposed to art and working out the ants in their pants. Exhibits change every 18 months or so, so there's always something new."

"Located at 675 W Beech Street, Craft & Commerce is Taxidermy & old books line the walls of this hip gastropub, serving seasonal eats & craft cocktails. Craft & Commerce is a pioneer in San Diego’s craft cocktail movement when it first debuted in San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood in 2009. You may not be an immediate fan of the eclectic, taxidermy-filled bar, which has a library and African safari vibe to it, but the drinks are instant classics and way more exotic and delicious than your expectations."
"C&C was a pioneer in San Diego's craft cocktail movement when it debuted in San Diego's Little Italy neighborhood in 2009. You may not be an immediate fan of the eclectic, taxidermy-filled bar, which has a library-meets-African-safari-lodge vibe, but the drinks are instant classics. Don't miss the Lip Reader (a concoction of gin, pamplemousse rose, and absinthe), the Man Hands (mezcal and sherry), and the Del Boca Vista (a rum-heavy punch bowl)."
