"Located in the southwest corner of San Diego, the Tijuana Estuary is a wetlands area with beach, dune, mudflat, salt marsh, riparian, coastal sage scrub, and upland habitats that are free to explore. Start at the Visitor Center to learn about the trails, flora and fauna (many are rare or endangered), and various things to do during your visit. "At the southernmost tip of San Diego is one of the most serene places that few people know about. Where the Tijuana River meets the sea is where you’ll find the Tijuana Slough with over 2,000 acres of wetlands. Over 370 bird species have been observed there with 5 of them being endangered species that are regularly seen."

"Los Peñasquitos (“little cliffs”) is a great beginners’ trail for those who want to enjoy mountain-feel views without having to hire an expedition crew. There are two approaches (east and west), and the trailheads offer a trek of either 6.5, or 5.5 miles, respectively. The terrain is gradual and level, but the trails are surrounded by the sort of views that gave the area its name: scenic rocky outcroppings, and stony formations that ripple with rubble."

"Why go: You’re at the Children’s Pool and would like to step out on the sand to explore a different beach. South Casa Beach is located directly south of the Children’s Pool (which is also referred to as Casa Beach). In fact, it’s just on the other side of the Children’s Pool lifeguard station, which also services South Casa Beach."

"Just across the bay in quaint Coronado, you will find Leroy’s Kitchen + Lounge. It isn’t hard to make their food look good, so even the most novice ‘grammer will capture some excellent shots while enjoying delicious craft cocktails and a seasonal menu dedicated to locally-sourced, sustainable food. The prima verbena cocktail is pretty in pink and the mac ‘n’ cheese is served in its own cast-iron skillet (and what’s more Instagrammable than a cast-iron skillet?)"

"With a farm-to-table approach to dining everything on their menu is fresh and delicious!. They serve brunch each Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm and we recommend grabbing a table on their outdoor patio and ordering a couple of share plates while you sip on one of their creative brunch cocktails. Favorite share plates are the Monkey Bread, Brussels Sprouts and Deviled Eggs."

"Ok, so Old Town San Diego is definitely kitsch, but if you can look past all the sombreros, tacos stands and Tequila Tasting Taverns, there’s a whole heap of history to be had. For that reason alone I recommend you add Old Town to your San Diego itinerary."
"Located in Old Town, El Agave is not your typical tourist trap. Here you'll feast on authentic Mexican cuisine in a dimly lit, romantic setting. El Agave is known as a "tequileria" — which means diners have access to over 2,000 different tequilas!"
